# A valid Stardog license was not found

I have already installed stardog, but when I tried to launch the app, I got the following message "_A valid Stardog license was not found in C:\Users\svc\_argis\stardogs\stardog\_home. Please copy your license file to this location or visit [https://stardog.com](https://stardog.com/) to acquire a new license._"

Could you help me with this?

Hi Angie,

If you don't already have a license key, you can request one [here](https://www.stardog.com/license-request/). If/when you do have one, you'll have to place it in your `C:\Users\svc_argis\stardogs\stardog_home` folder.

You might be interested in [Stardog Cloud](https://cloud.stardog.com/), though. You can sign up for a free account there and get started using Stardog right away (we'll handle the license key for you).
