# Could not run stardog on windows

I am trying to run stardog but an error occurs. I am using windows 10.  
Error is something like that "Error: missing `server' JVM at`C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre1.8.0\_221\bin\server\jvm.dll'.  
Please install or use the JRE or JDK that contains these missing components."

It sounds like a problem with your JRE installation. Are you able to run `java` from the command line?

Yes I am able to run java from command line.

Yes. I install JDK 12 version

Stardog requires Java 8.
