Purpose of naming mappings by example

Dear Stardog team,

we have come across the question of naming our mappings: what would be the benefits, options to have named mappings available?
How can those be queried? What attributes can we gain from such a query?

We haven't found anything on the tutorials on that really, so may be a result of being too blind... if that is the case: sorry!

Hi Oliver.

The only place that the names of the mappings are used is in the knowledge catalog. Having named mappings lets you follow the links from data source to virtual graph to mapping to tables and columns. (If you don't name them, we'll assign a unique id to each.) Can be handy for seeing how your enterprise data is linked into your knowledge graph.
