Problem with running Stardog for the first time

Hi all,

I am new into Stardog, and was wishing to bring my RDF data to the Stardog server.
I am using Windows. Following themanual, I first got this error:

Error: missing server' JVM at C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre1.8.0_161\bin\server\jvm.dll'.
Please install or use the JRE or JDK that contains these missing components.

I then created a server folder for Java...\bin and copied the client files there, then I got this error:

Unrecognized VM option 'UseCompressedOops'
Did you mean '(+/-)CheckCompressedOops'?
Error: Could not create the Java Virtual Machine.
Error: A fatal exception has occurred. Program will exit.

I found some contradicitng advice on the old google group, but was wondering if any of you can help me as to what to do.

You’re most likely running a 32 bit JVM and Stardog is expecting a 64 bit. What hardware platform are you running on?
