The empty default value of the "resource" field when adding permissions is invalid, resulting in an error: "Something went wrong, and we're not sure what it is". A solution to the problem would be to make asterisk the default value, like in the field "resource type".
Hi Henrik,
This isn't what you should be seeing. The error you should get is Failed to add permission to role "test": 000IA2: Must provide at least one resource name (Bad Request)
.
Can you send us a screenshot of the error you're getting and your stardog.log file?
Best,
Steve
Hi Henrik,
My mistake, I assumed you were running a local installation. Given you're running on SDC, you don't have access to your log file.
Thank you for sending the screenshot. I'll talk to the Cloud team to see if we can figure out why you're getting that error, rather than the error you should be getting (the one I posted above). In any case, you can rest assured that the routine behavior of adding a permission with no resource is a logical error message, rather than the one you encountered (which I agree is unhelpful).
Best,
Steve
Hi Henrik,
I was able to replicate this behavior when using my own SDC Free instance. After talking to the Cloud team, I've created a ticket for engineering to improve the error message that gets displayed in this situation.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention! We'll update you when the work on the ticket is completed.
Best,
Steve
