Adding some context here for our internal team, as I spoke with this user earlier today.

He’s added his TTL files above using “Load Data” in the Databases section in Studio. He is now looking for support on how to inspect the data in Studio

Thanks for following up on this Anvitha. I am hoping to see the Ontology in the Designer and instance data in the viewer and or editor

cheers,
STeve

Steve

Please see the thread attached for a discussion and resolution. If you have further questions please ask.

So, This is what I have, it loads into Studio, I can’t see anything but assuming I set it up as described I should be able to see stuff in Studio (and I assume designer and explorer connect to the same db and graphs)

I am not clear about the comments re Restriction, DataProperty, ObjectProperty. Are they recommended good practice or will StarDog Explorer and Designer not be able to present my content unless I encode my ontology differently?

I think you said don’t do what is depicted below, keep TBox/Abox in separate models ?

I tried to follow along but I get confused with model, sometimes I think you are talking about a StarDog thing and sometimes ‘my thing’. I think you are saying I need to do something like this ? where Model is a Stardog Model and Named Graphs are an output of saving a model ?

Apologies for being so dumb here….I just load these into other tools and i can navigate the stuff as I just think in terms of Tbox/Abox anyway

thanks a lot for the help so far!

Steve

Stephen,

Here’s how to see your Ontology.
Create a new database

Load the model to the graph shown. Enter tag:stardog:api:context:schema Be sure to click

Use <tag:stardog:api:context:schema>

Load your first datafile to the graph shown. Enter urn:data Be sure to click Use <urn:data>

Load 2nd datafile in the same way also to <urn:data>

In Explorer choose Visualize

I noticed that the IRIs don’t align — the classes in the ontology use the namespace
https://w3id.org/semanticarts/ns/ontology/gist/
while the instances in the data use the namespace
https://ontologies.industrybuildingblocks.com/ibbeo/.

Are you handling the mismatch elsewhere or do you want ideas on how to align the data with the ontology? Here for example is a model that aligns with your data.

Thanks

Joe

Attached are some queries that allow you explore your graph.

Place the cursor anywhere in a query and click Run
You do not need to highlight or select a query. Just place the cursor in the query

Hi Joe,

This is a partner vendor whose app I have seen but not the actual metamodel and data. I think the ibb ontology was not loaded, it is subclassed from the GIST upper.

I am particularly interested to see the ontology , less interested in the data )) did you make any changes to the ontology in order to get it to load ?

ibb-ontology.ttl (38.2 KB)

thanks again for the help

they were cutting up the full set of data to make a sample so there could be some loose items as mistakes possibly,

Steve

I made no changes whatsoever.

I just loaded it as per instructions above and opened it immediately in explorer.

Thanks

Joe

Steve,

If this is a commercial opportunity for Stardog, i..e there is line of sight to a license transaction I’m more than happy to explore further.

Please schedule a call at your convenience Zoom Scheduler

Thanks

Joe

Hi Joe,
I am anticipating a paid effort upcoming and am evaluating StarDog for it, I am using this data which is for a different purpose but was useful for testing capability.
I've had a demo with StarDog and they have my use case, i am waiting for a response to it, and they took away a feature request.

cheers,
Steve
