Urgent: Limit on Stardog Essentials subscription?

Hi everyone!

As far as I understand the Stardog Essentials User subscription has capacity for over 50 million triples.

Why am I getting a Failed to import D_CATS: TXHRE2: There was a fatal failure during preparation of d953c66b-2478-45bc-ad8f-336bc43e95fc: Database size exceeds the server limit allowed by the license: 1.5M if I have a Stardog Essentials User subscription?

If serialized, data size depends on:

  • Format: e.g., Turtle, RDF/XML, N-Triples.
  • Average triple size: Typically 200–300 bytes per triple (text format).

Estimation: 50,000,000 triples × 250 bytes ≈ 12.5 GB.

Even if it were 1.5 million triples, it would still be under the limit.

Any idea what might be the issue?

Thanks!

Hello Daniel,

It looks like you put in the order to upgrade your Stardog Cloud endpoint from a Free instance to an Essentials instance about an hour ago. We are scheduling the upgrade, and it will be ready within one day.

Regards,

Paul

Hi Paul!

I see the amount of edges limit was updated the moment the account's subscription was upgraded.

Just want to confirm that, although this limit has been updated, the account has not been upgraded yet?

Thank you, Paul!

Apologies for the confusion. We have not yet upgraded the server component of your Stardog endpoint. Once that is completed, you will have the increased number of edges available in your Essentials subscription.

Excellent! Thank you @PaulPlace! Looking forward for the update

Daniel, please try now.

Now it worked! Thank you @PaulPlace!!

Have a great week!
